Ethnic Series (2000-Series)

In the Ethnic Series PAN Records releases and documents original ethnic music (field recordings and studio recordings) from living cultures. To this end PAN Records works with many prominent ethnomusicologists.
CDs in the Ethnic Series go with a booklet that contains information in the English language about the area that the music comes from, the music, the instruments, and the musicians. Sometimes a detailed area map is included, as well as characteristic photographs. PAN wants the booklet to contain all the information one could possibly want to know without writing too scientifically. Sometimes the possibility to request the complete (original and/or translated) song texts is offered.
In the Ethnic Series Pan Records likes to document what’s happening now. And if future generations find something interesting in our releases, so much the better.
